Considering this fact, like the previous years, «Barnevakten» is going to arrange a game week this year too. In week 42 (16th-22nd October), we invite all adults in Norway to engage in children’s gaming. Join exciting events, get concrete game tips, and enter a building competition in Minecraft and eventually create good family memories.

A list of the main activities of the Game Week 2023:  

Building competition in Minecraft

Date and time: Monday to Friday 17:00 – 22:00 

During the Game Week, Barnevakten and Bibliogames will arrange a building competition in Minecraft. 

The focus of the week is to have fun and create memories as a family. But there are also some prizes for selected entries. Winners will be drawn on Monday 23 October and will be announced here. 

The Minecraft server is organized in collaboration with Bibliogames. The server is open between 17:00 and 20:00, Monday to Friday during the Game Week. For any problem with logging in, contact support@Bibliogames.no.

Zoom Webinar on gaming and parenting 

Date and time: Tuesday 17 October from 21:00 – 22:00. 

About half of Norwegian parents feel a concern about their children’s gaming (Ipsos/Blå kors, 2021). Parents may worry about time-passing, inappropriate content, or even gaming addiction. 

So how to deal with it as a parent? And when does gaming really become a problem? 

Meet Rune Engen Eberlin, avid gamer dad and experienced speaker at Barnevakten. Get concrete tips, facts, and advice on gaming. 

This lecture has been developed in collaboration between «Barnevakten» and «Blå kors». The target group is all parents with children of primary school age who play computer games, but the content is equally relevant for caregivers, teachers, and others who work with children.
